About Jake Belcher

My love of photography was cemented while visiting my great-grandmother as a child. At her house I would pore over the dusty stacks of decades of National Geographic magazines she kept in the corner of my great-grandfather's bedroom. I would get lost in the new worlds revealed to me through the images on those yellowing pages.  I knew one day I would produce my own storytelling photos.

I followed my love of photography to attend the New England School of Photography in Boston where I studied photojournalism.  There I discovered the power of making life-long connections through photographs.

I have been fortunate to take this passion and make a career out of it.  Spending a few years staffing for various newspapers, I earned several photojournalism awards including the title of Photographer of the Year for two consecutive years. Now I am able to focus full-time on applying my photojournalistic style to capturing my clients’ important moments.

It is a privilege to be a part of each client’s important day, documenting that special time in their lives. I couldn't think of anything else that could be more satisfying.

I happily live in Boston with my wife and dog, Buddy.  I welcome the opportunity to travel outside the city to photograph your special event.
